Hyundai Mobis has introduced its state-of-the-art In-Cabin Monitoring System (ICM), designed to analyze passenger behaviors and bio-signals for improved vehicle safety.
The system uses in-vehicle cameras and advanced software to monitor drivers and passengers in real-time, detecting over 10 potentially dangerous behaviors, such as drowsy driving, mobile phone use, and leaving children unattended in rear seats.
The ICM combines posture and position tracking with bio-signal analysis to identify risks and issue audio-visual alerts. With a focus on passenger safety, the system goes beyond traditional monitoring by incorporating features like child seat checks and driver fatigue detection. Hyundai Mobis achieved ASPICE certification and exceeded NCAP safety standards, ensuring global readiness.
Future developments include enhanced healthcare features and fleet-focused solutions. “Demand for in-vehicle safety technologies is rapidly growing,” said Shin Kyu-chul, Hyundai Mobis’ Electronic Control Development leader.
