Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) reported robust sales for the first half of 2024, with a 14.3% increase in total vehicle sales, reaching 1,186,647 units.
Notably, electrified vehicle sales soared by 67.9%, totaling 454,197 units and representing 38.3% of TMNA’s total sales.
In June alone, Toyota sold 193,120 vehicles, a minor decrease of 1.2% from June 2023, but saw electrified vehicle sales jump 64.5% to 84,781 units. The Toyota division posted 164,777 vehicle sales in June and 1,019,436 for the first half, while Lexus recorded its best-ever first half with 167,211 units sold.
“Lexus achieved its best-ever first half, and Toyota remains the top retail brand,” said Jack Hollis, TMNA’s Executive VP of Sales. He attributed the success to a wide range of 29 electrified models and the company’s focus on customer satisfaction.
TMNA’s diverse portfolio continues to meet consumer demand for sustainable mobility, solidifying its leading market position.
