FleetPride, the nation’s largest independent distributor of aftermarket heavy duty parts and services, has acquired Wheelco Truck & Trailer Parts and Service, a prominent business based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Founded in 1961, Wheelco is a third-generation family business with six retail parts locations, two service centers, a distribution center, and an OEM division.
Steven P. Stich, owner of Wheelco, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting FleetPride’s national presence and extensive resources. “Wheelco has always been customer-driven, and joining FleetPride will provide significant growth opportunities for our customers and employees,” Stich said.
Mike Harris, president of FleetPride, welcomed the Wheelco team, emphasizing the shared values centered around people, customers, and safety. The acquisition enhances FleetPride’s market presence with 18 locations in South Dakota and Minnesota, particularly around the Twin Cities.
FleetPride will integrate Wheelco’s service technicians into its FleetPride Tech University for advanced training. Additionally, the new FleetPride OE Solutions division will combine Wheelco’s and FleetPride’s OEM capabilities to offer innovative solutions for trailer and specialty equipment OEMs.
