Anyline, a leader in mobile data capture and data insights, has released a survey showing a rising demand for technology among automotive service technicians.
The results found that 70% of technicians rely on technology for at least half of their tasks, with 60% expressing interest in Anyline’s smartphone-based tire tread scanning tool. Furthermore, 87% of technicians believe digital data improves customer trust and satisfaction.
With an industry-wide shortage of skilled technicians, new AI-powered mobile data capture tools, including tire and vehicle scanning platforms, are positioned to increase efficiency by reducing manual data entry. This lets technicians focus more on repair tasks and helps shops serve more customers.
Chris Garcia, head of U.S. automotive at Anyline, noted that these tools address both labor challenges and technician needs.
