Here’s the scoop: eBay and the McLaren Formula 1 Team have unveiled a custom 1973 Plymouth Barracuda restomod at the 2024 US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. The collaboration celebrates McLaren’s successful F1 season and eBay’s role as a major automotive marketplace.
The vehicle, wrapped in McLaren’s signature “papaya” color, features upgrades such as coilover suspension, forged disc brakes, and motorsports-style bucket seats. The transformation showcases eBay’s wide range of new and classic car parts, using components that highlight the platform’s automotive versatility.Upgrades include:
- Coilover conversion front and rear suspension
- Forged front and rear disc brakes
- Period-appropriate wheels and tires
- Performance headers and exhaust system
- Motorsports-style bucket seats
- Classic wood steering wheel
- Updated headlights, tail lights and side markers
Lando Norris, McLaren F1 driver, presented the car at Circuit of the Americas. The car will be displayed throughout the race weekend, with fans voting on the finishing touches.
