Cooper Standard has introduced the eCoFlow™ Switch Pump, a solution for simplifying thermal management in electric and hybrid vehicles.
Developed in collaboration with Saleri Group, the pump combines an electric water pump and an electrically driven valve into one integrated module.
The new design enhances efficiency by managing fluid flow, reducing the need for multiple components, and saving space. The eCoFlow system is engineered to reduce complexity, improves system efficiency, and minimizes the vehicle’s electrical wiring and packaging space requirements.
Chris Couch, Cooper Standard’s President of Fluid Handling Systems, stated that this “first-of-its-kind” solution aids in reducing battery cell needs and overall carbon footprints. The eCoFlow™ Switch Pump eliminates the pressure drop and waste found in traditional systems, ensuring smoother fluid transitions and reducing system noise.
It’s particularly beneficial for the thermal needs of fully electrified and hybrid vehicles.
