Mitchell 1 has joined forces with NEXIQ Technologies to create a unified diagnostic and information resource for the commercial truck service industry.
The collaboration integrates Mitchell 1’s TruckSeries repair data with NEXIQ’s eTechnician PC-based diagnostics software, allowing technicians seamless navigation between diagnostic data and repair information.
Announced at the TMC 2024 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition, the partnership aims to streamline the repair process for medium- to heavy-duty trucks. Technicians now benefit from a single subscription that provides comprehensive diagnostic capabilities alongside detailed repair information, eliminating the need to switch between multiple programs.
“Customers now have access to vehicle information via NEXIQ’s eTechnician tool and Mitchell 1’s data services,” said Kristy Coffman, director of Mitchell 1’s Commercial Vehicle Group.
The eTechnician tool covers diagnostics for engines, transmissions, brakes, and more, while Mitchell 1’s integrated data includes component locations, wiring diagrams, and TMC’s Recommended Practices.
What’s more, the diagnostic tool interfaces with the systems on the vehicle to display information from the vehicle, including diagnostic trouble codes, input data from sensors and output data for components including fuel injectors or cooling fans, according to Mitchell 1.
The Mitchell 1 information that is bundled within eTechnician includes component locations using high-quality photos, connector details and specific component tests. Also included are simplified wiring diagrams that focus on components relevant to a specific diagnosis, the company noted.
