TravelCenters of America (TA) and the NATSO Foundation have launched a new safety initiative for TA’s Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA) technicians. This collaboration has equipped all TA Truck Service ERA vehicles with the HAAS Alert Safety Cloud® digital alerting platform.

The HAAS Alert system sends “slow down” and “move over” alerts to oncoming drivers when an ERA vehicle’s flashing lights are activated. These alerts are integrated into popular navigation apps like Waze and Apple Maps, and appear on the infotainment screens of 2018 and newer Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles.

“HAAS Alert’s real-time notifications provide a safer work environment for our ERA team members,” said Debi Boffa, TA CEO. “Safety is our top priority, and this initiative significantly improves roadside conditions for both our team and professional drivers.”

Cory Hohs, CEO of HAAS Alert, emphasized the collaboration’s impact: “By offering Safety Cloud alerts, we can help more roadside service workers get home safely.”

The NATSO Foundation, in partnership with HAAS Alert, aims to connect the safety platform with truck stop and travel center locations nationwide. Lisa Mullings, NATSO Foundation President, highlighted the importance of this initiative: “Reminding drivers to comply with Move Over laws will make highways safer for everyone.”

TravelCenters of America operates over 300 locations in 44 states, providing a range of services for travelers. HAAS Alert focuses on delivering lifesaving digital alerts to improve road safety. The NATSO Foundation supports truck stops through education and outreach.
